Only did a 7 lb turkey breast instead of a whole turkey this year and was honestly the best I’ve ever made! Turned out very tender and juicy! Will be using this recipe again!

That’s wonderful to hear! Rinsing and keeping the seasoning simple with butter, pepper, and paprika sounds like a winning combination. Thrilled it turned out to be the best turkey you’ve had. Enjoy!

So pleased to hear the turkey was a hit, even with the ham fans! For crispier skin, try increasing the oven temperature for the last 15-20 minutes of cooking, or broil it briefly (watching closely to prevent burning). Glad the brining worked well for you.

Electric ovens can vary, and frequent opening for basting does affect cooking time. For future reference, using a meat thermometer can help gauge doneness without opening the oven too often.

I read a few of the comments and tips and fully rinsed the meat before cooking. I only added butter and pepper and paprika (for color) and it was honestly the best turkey I’ve ever had! 10/10

This turkey was so juicy and moist! The gravy is wonderful too! I got many compliments from a family who prefers ham. I think brining really made a difference and made the kitchen smell amazing! I couldn’t get the skin super crisp, so tips for that? I love the full/big sections of meat recipes, so economical!

Took much longer to cook than 20 mins a pound. Mine was 2.87lbs and took forever but I was using an electric oven which loses heat every time it is opened (basting). Turkey was definitely moist and tasty from brining but the time it took messed up my timing of thanksgiving dinner.
